12/1/2011 Came here for the first time on a KGB deal and loved it! First time since I moved here (1 year ago) have a found my perfect hairdresser :) I go to Scott to get my color done, he's wonderful.  He listens to you and also gently offers his opinion if you ask.  Love love love this place! 11/3/2011 Lemme tell you - my hair was not a pretty sight when I made an appointment to see Scott.  I had my highlights done several weeks earlier at a different salon, and was not happy with the dark brown low-lights the hairdresser had creatively decided to paint on my dirty blond locks, and somehow decided that I could do a better job myself. I could not. I looked for a salon with a good colorist in my hood (Hell's Kitchen) and found Scott on Yelp.  I walked in with half a yellow head of hair, mortified because I did not see how this could be fixed without my hair breaking off (it felt so processed and brittle..). Scott magically fixed it by redoing half a head of highlights in two shades of blond, transforming me back into a blond bombshell, rather than someone who was hit by a blonde bomb. As someone who has inspected many other salons and left a fair share of $$$ behind, I must say I did not expect to walk out of the salon smiling.  The staff is courteous and oh so professional. Seeing as I found this place on Yelp, I felt I needed to spread the word.  This salon is definitely worth a try! 11/3/2011 I have been a client of Scott's for many years now.  He has seen me from everything from rapunzel long hair, chopped raven headed bob and anything in between.  Never did I feel fearful or worried with Scott styling my next do'.  In fact every single time has been a pleasure and he always makes sure I leave his chair feeling like a goddess.  Today was my first visit with Scott at his current location Hair & the City.  I felt so welcomed by his cozy yet trendy salon and as usual the staff around him were a pleasure to be with.  Scott treated my hair with the moroccan keratin treatment and without a doubt I feel like a goddess with my once again silky straight hair.  I love his new spot and will definitely be back regardless of where I have to come in from. 3/13/2011 I followed my longtime stylist here and have known Scott for years.  Love the salon - great products and great vibe.  Scott is a fantastic colorist, and they've got an amazing makeup artist there as well.  Will definitely be back and highly recommend! Norman-Taylor   A crazy trip to NYC, being from London, didn't have a clue where to get my hair done.  Looking for a quick style, Scott gave me the best blow out ever.  Two days later, with some time on my hands, I went back for the full salon treatment.  Color, cut, deep conditioning.  I'm a new woman.  I also received a complementary make up application.  I love their mineral based make up.  DEX is the best salon experience I've ever had.  Can't wait to go back to New York!  Thanks Scott...   I've finally found someone 5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended 02/21/2008 Posted by Agnieska I'm so happy! I've finally found someone. Someone wonderful in a great salon, DEX New York on W. 30th Street.  Scott the colorist is a genius at what he does. He understands your hair's chemistry and how to achieve the most natural results you will ever experience thru coloring. When I first saw Scott for a consultation, he told me exactly on how much time he would need to fix my hair from darkest black to my natural dark blonde. He was very open and honest about what may come and from that moment on I knew I was in good hands. When my appointment came, Scott spent nearly 5 hours on my hair, nursing it back to its glory inch by inch strand by strand. His dedication to his clients hair is unbelievable. I have been to many high end salons and you only see the colorist for the first couple of minutes and then they disappear... but not Scott, he stood by me the entire time checking and making sure that everything was happening according to plan. I was extremely pleased with the outcome. It was simply an unbelievable hair color he has given me. I can't wait to come back for my highlights! I also must recognize the owner Dexter - who is very friendly and kind. Whether you're their old client or someone new - he makes you feel like a family. The assistant Karina - is sweet and wonderful and works very well with Scott. I can't say enough good things about this Salon. Go and see for yourself - You won't be disappointed - I promise. After recently moving to NYC, I was thrust into my biggest fear of attempting to find a new hairstylist among thousands in the city. I have very long hair and I love it long. I have never in my life gotten a hair cut where the amount the stylist planned to cut off in my consultation was the amount that was "actually" taken off. I made an appointment with Scott Wasserman after reading all of his reviews. . . and not only did he live up to each and every kind word that was written about him in my opinion he surpassed the praise. He was professional, friendly, open to suggestion and best of all gave me EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. It was by far the best haircut I have ever had and can officially say that i am Scott's #1 Fan am addicted to Salon Zoia, Scott and his fabulous hair cuts and blowouts. My hair was jet black and I had previously had it highlighted elsewhere and they made my hair into every possible color. Scott saved me!. He spent hours working on the madness. He did everything he could to make my hair beautiful again. Every woman wants to feel at ease when they change their hair and Scott makes you feel just that. He takes the time to tell you what works for you and what doesn't. Something I personally appreciate. The place has a great cozy feeling to it and great people too. I used to go to Warren & Tricomi salon before Scott and now I don't go anywhere else except Scott. He's really professional and super friendly. Love him, just love him! My hair looks amazing! My cut and color are both top notch - he spent a lot of time with me, even though I had a lot of hair to deal with. He took so much care and took time to understand what I wanted and do it right. The process was long and grueling, but Scott stuck with me until I was happy with the outcome. He has a lot of talent and is willing to use all of it to make YOU happy. I went for a haircut and she went for a touchup and low-lights. Scott was great! I have the best haircut of my life and my mom's color is natural and pretty. Scott did a great job on both of us. He is talented both with haircuts and color. But, passing by chance, I decided it was time to face my fear and I came out more than happy with the outcome. Scott was amazing!! Everyone has been complimenting my haircut. I haven't been this satisfied with my hair in years. I've recommended this place to all my girlfriends. Thanks so much for being so great!!!
